The Resnick Community Learning Center will house those students that formerly attended Fairlawn Elementary School. The new center is approaching the bidding phase with construction slated to begin in October of 2005. This new facility will provide classroom, administrative, recreational and support space for Grades K thru 5. The CLC is designed to accommodate 350 children at peak capacity. The architecture of the building is in response to the public interest to maintain the character and charm of “Old Fairlawn School”. Although these aesthetic features presented some budgetary challenges the project is currently on budget. Another important feature of this project was the vacation of Meadowcroft Avenue, which will restrict traffic movements around the new facility creating a safer environment.
