I.R. 480 Reconstruction

Ohio Department of Transportation

$33,000,000

The Interstate 480 major reconstruction project involved the rehabilitation of 2.5 miles of roadway from the Tuxedo Avenue overpass to the Valley View Bridge, including the IR-480/IR-77 cloverleaf. With this interchange being one of the most congested interchanges in Northeast Ohio the MOT plan was vital to the project. Kenmore worked with ODOT to design an innovative phasing and MOT plan for the reconstruction of the eight ramps at the cloverleaf interchange, necessary to allow for safer travel through the construction project. Full depth pavement replacement and structure approach upgrades, new guardrail and fencing, as well as new lighting and traffic control were also key elements of the project. Kenmore also performed extensive undercutting and subgrade stabilization during the roadway portion of the project.
